Taman Ayun Temple was founded by The King of Mengwi, I Gusti Agung Anom in 1634, in the 17th century and is a magnificient Royal Family Temple of Mengwi Empire. Taman Ayun literally means " A Beautfull Garden which represents the situation of the Temple which is very beautifull" surrounded by a wide, elegant moat.
